ITV The Chase's Shaun Wallace 'instantly' puts player through to final

Shaun Wallace was extremely generous to a player on today's episode of The Chase.

Nathan, Michelle, Tony and Rachael were today's brave team willing to take on a Chaser on the ITV quiz show. They each went head to head with 'The Dark Destroyer' in a bid to win a cash prize.

First up was Nathan - a 33-year-old ambulance team manger. He told host Bradley Walsh that he likes to referee rugby in his spare time and hoped to do flying lessons with any winnings.

When asking which Chaser the player would like to face, Bradley introduced each of the five quiz masters with a joke. Nathan said that he would love to meet Shaun Wallace after reading his book.

Bradley was taken aback as he said: "Have you been drinking?" But Shaun was clearly impressed with his fan as he said: "Read my book have you? Congratulations you're through."

He went on to offer the 33-year-old contestant a high offer of £25,000 as a show of gratitude towards the fan. Nathan's team mates were delighted with the higher offer and urged him to take it after a good cash builder round.

However, Nathan wasn't feeling so confident as he said that he needed to make it back to the team and accepted a middle offer of £5,000. He made it through to the final on his own accord after outrunning the Chaser as Bradley said: "Excellent stuff."
