ITV newsreader Chris Ship says 'arrogant pr***' live on air but for a very good reason

ITV's news broadcaster Chris Ship raised eyebrows after using the phrase "arrogant p****" live on air.

The journalist warned viewers that he would be using the slur on national television, and that it wasn't his usual style, but that an exception had been made.

He opened the segment: "Finally from me, a word we wouldn't normally use anywhere in the bulletin, but we will following a charity auction in New Zealand.

"The money was raised after Prime Minster Jacinda Ardern called an opposition politician... and these are her words, not mine, an arrogant p****."

The PM made the comment about David Seymour, the leader of the opposition ACT party.

He objected to the remark and asked the House of Representatives Speaker to have it withdrawn.

Ms Ardern later said that she had apologised, but it seems that she has turned it on its head and has used the slur to raise money for charity.

"Her insult was just about about caught on microphones in parliament last week, but the two political leaders signed the official record of the debate and auctioned it off for £50,000 for a prostate cancer charity."

Chris shared the clip where he dropped the P bomb and added the caption: "So, it's not everyday you end up saying the words 'arrogant p****' on the news..."

He shared the clip to TikTok after it was broadcast and it clocked over 250k views.

The journalist added: "I believe the auction, which raised $100,000 for a prostate cancer charity used the slogan 'for p**** everywhere'".

One follower congratulated Chris and said: "You delivered it beautifully," to which Chris replied: "Practice makes perfect!".
