ITV Masked Singer Traffic Cone's identity 'rumbled' as clue unveils surprise past job

Fans of The Masked Singer are convinced they have rumbled the identity of Traffic Cone.

The character is one of the 12 celebrities competing in this season of the hit ITV show.

Joel Dommett has returned to host the third series of the singing programme where viewers have once again been demanding that celebrities "take it off".

Judges Davina McCall, RIta Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan have been back in their detective chairs to guess the voice behind the costume.

Celebrities such as Heather Small, Gloria Hunniford, Will Young and Pat Cash have already been unmasked this season - and viewers are eagerly trying to predict who is behind the extraordinary traffic cone costume.

The Traffic Cone has entertained fans with performances of "Never Gonna Give You Up" and “When Somebody Loved Me”.

In their clues, the character said a traffic cone is a shape close to their heart, they're a troublemaker and they made money from taking their top off.

This has led the judges to guess it could either be Peter Andre, Chris Kamara, Olly Murs or Alistair Brownlee behind the costume.

However, fans on Twitter are convinced the clues indicate it is actually Tom Jones - as one viewer remembered the singing legend referring to his job before he shot to fame.

Amelia posted: "TRAFFIC CONE is definitely Tom Jones. I remember him saying on the Voice he worked in construction before he made it big!"

Meghan said: "Still convinced traffic cone is Tom Jones"

Chloe added: "Traffic Cone = Sir Tom Jones?"

There has also been strong speculation from fans that Russell Watson is the voice behind the suit, but he suggested it was actually his friend Aled Jones during an interview on Good Morning Britain this week.

He said: "I know who that is. The strange thing is, I didn’t know who it was when I saw the first performance, I had no idea. Then I heard the second performance and I know who it is. I’m absolutely certain.

"He’s not admitted it, he’s not mentioned it at all, but I’m convinced that is my mate Aled Jones."

Comedian Rob Beckett left fans in hysterics at the weekend when he "accidentally" revealed he was behind the Traffic Cone costume during Saturday's show.

He tweeted : "Just send this out once I've been unmasked'

"Thanks for all the support being the Traffic Cone I absolutely loved it. Great show. The kids couldn’t believe it was me."

The Masked Singer airs at 7pm on Saturday on ITV and ITV Hub
