ITV make important announcement before In for a Penny

ITV made an important announcement about the new series of 'In for a Penny' tonight, just before the show aired.

The broadcaster was forced to warn viewers that the show was filmed before the coronavirus outbreak, and as such featured crowds of people and people in close proximity to each other.

The show hosted by Stephen Mulhern sees him challenge members of the public to different tasks for prizes.

And viewers were shocked when they heard the announcement, saying it showed how much the world had changed in a matter of weeks.

Steve said: "It’s a bit bad when they have to inform viewers they filmed a series before Coronavirus so no one complains."

Eri said: "Wow, @ITV reminding the nation that @StephenMulhern 's "In for a Penny" was filmed before the #coronavirus outbreak. The world as we knew it Let's enjoy these laughs! We need them!"

Emma said: "Love how they have to say #InForAPenny was filmed before Coronavirus because people are that dumb."

ITV have made similar announcements this week, before shows such as Emmerdale, as the broadcaster seeks to encourage the public to practise social distancing.

The UK has been placed in a three week lockdown, with the public only allowed to leave their house for a medical need, daily exercise, to travel to and from essential work and to buy essential food.

*In for a Penny continues at 8pm next Saturday on ITV
