Sam Heughan and Lorraine Kelly share 'flirty' kilt joke on ITV and fans loved it

ITV Lorraine viewers were treated to a nice surprise as Outlander superstar Sam Heughan appeared on the show to promote his latest drama.

The Dumfries-born actor, best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in Diana Gabaldon's historical fantasy series, is set to return to screens on Sunday night in a brand new Channel 4 thriller Suspect.

Viewers couldn't help but notice famously friendly host Lorraine appeared a bit flirty with the Men In Kilts star as they discussed wearing kilts in space.

Lorraine said: "We share a love of a very special man called Tim Peak, don't we? Because you're into all things space."

Before she joked: "Shall we go up in space together? Men in Kilts?"

"Well I don't know what happens to your kilt if you're up in zero gravity, you tell me?" Sam quipped.

Lorraine, in hysterics, added: "Can you imagine your kilt cause it would go way up and be amazing. That would get a lot of hits online."

Steering the conversation away from kilts, Sam asked: "You've been in zero gravity before?"

Viewers loved the cheeky conversation between the two and took to social media.

One viewer wrote: "Love the fact that @lorraine is shamelessly perving on @SamHeughan #MenInKilts #zerogravity #yespleasesam "

Another viewer wrote: "Lorraine imploring Sam Heughan to try zero-gravity in a kilt."

A third penned: "Give me a break. There isn’t a woman alive who wouldn’t flirt with Sam Heughan."

A fourth commented: "Well, that's certainly cheered up a dreary morning!"

Sam Heughan stars in Suspect with premieres on Channel 4 on Sunday night at 9pm.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
