ITV I'm A Celebrity first look as Matt Hancock screams during first trial

Everyone has been talking about him since it was revealed he'd signed up for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here and after three days of jungle action, viewers are finally going to get to see the former health secretary make his debut. Matt, 44, will take on a trial alongside fellow latecomer Seann Walsh before making his way into camp.

The pair's upcoming appearance on the ITV reality show, which will air on Wednesday night (November 9), was teased at the end of Tuesday's episode. During the programme, co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly teed up the arrival of the new campmates.

The Geordie duo also informed the current celebrity contestants of the new arrivals and broke the news that both Matt, 44, and comedian Seann, 36, would be undertaking the next trial. And a first-look at what they get up to has been revealed.

In a teaser clip released ahead of tonight's show the pair were seen taking part in' The Beastly Burrows' challenge in a bid to win stars for their new campmates. MP Matt and new co-star Seann could be seen being put into a tunnel during the challenge and ended up covered in bugs, gunk and slime.

Matt appeared to take the lead in the teaser clip, crawling through the tunnels with a more nervous Seann hot on his tail. And Dec can be also seen giggling as controversial contestant Matt squirms his way through his first-ever task.

The video even shows the politician, who has been suspended from the Tory party due to his participation in I'm A Celeb, yelling as he's covered with 'slurry' before arguing with Seann after asking him which way they should go through the tunnels. "I'm not a satnav I don't know,' the comic, who is hoping to redeem himself after his Strictly scandal four years ago, responds leading the show's hosts Ant And Dec to burst out laughing.

Matt ha s said that running the gauntlet in the jungle on the ITV show is "a good metaphor for the world that I work in." He said in teaser: "This experience will be an adventure, when I'm in camp people will just see the real me. Survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world that I work in.

"People will see me warts and all, see the human side of the guy behind the podium." He added: "I don't think I've got any fears or phobias but I'll find out."

He also added: "Lots of people have a view on me from being health secretary in the pandemic dealing with some very difficult issues, but that's not the whole story. I am looking forward to throwing myself into it all like I do everything in life. You can't hide anything in the jungle, you see somebody warts and all."
