Emmerdale fans have been wondering if they 'missed a scene' after they were left baffled during the first episode of the week. The ITV soap was back on screens on Monday night (February 6) and viewers saw Paddy Kirk left horrified when his dad, Bear, tried to get him back on the dating scene following his split from Chas Dingle.
Before Christmas, Paddy was left heartbroken when he discovered his wife had been having an affair with Al Chapman, who at the time the family thought had just been shot dead by Chas' brother Cain when it was in fact his 10-year-old son, Kyle. After Belle Dingle confronted Chas for a second time over her affair, she threatened to tell Paddy.
And while she was initially seen changing her mind when she came face-to-face with the vet and his daughter, Eve, viewers later saw Paddy taking Chas on a surprise trip away only to arrive at the home Al had bought for them in order to run away together with Chas and Paddy's daughter, Eve.
Paddy has since been struggling with Chas' infidelity and so Bear thought it'd be helpful to organise a double date for them both, which started in The Woolpack where he is still living with Chas. While not wanting to join the date, Paddy still remains polite and not getting the hint that Paddy isn’t the right headspace for dating and socialising, he encourages him to hit the town with their dates, Carol and Bev.
But Paddy quickly thought up an excuse as the new character's left with Bear, with one saying it was a 'shame' he wasn't joining them. Meanwhile, Paddy's former flame Mandy Dingle was casting a watchful eye from behind the bar and Emmerdale viewers couldn't help but notice she was donning the same outfit as Bev.

Nobody has mentioned it. #emmerdale." @maitra_sulagna posted: "So we are ignoring the fact that Mandy and that woman are wearing the same jumper? #Emmerdale," before adding: "They couldn't have made it more obvious that Mandy and that woman wore the same jumper but they didn't mention it EVEN ONCE! #Emmerdale."
@fussyMcWhiskers asked: "#Emmerdale Did I miss it or did someone mention the Mandy/Redhead jumper-snap in the bar?" @Flat__l1ned shared: "Just realised that Lisa and the new lady chatting up Paddy are wearing the same jumper. #Emmerdale." @TwellyWatcher added: "The same jumper as Mandy #Emmerdale hilarious."
But some think it could be a hint at Paddy and Mandy's reunion after it was revealed last month that the pair will enjoy a secret rendezvous in upcoming scenes. Paddy will be seen opening up to Mandy and as they take a trip down memory lane, old passions are reawakened and they soon find themselves falling into bed together. Will this instant need for gratification and company help Paddy, or will he find himself spiraling into an even deeper depression?
