ITV Emmerdale fans demand bosses scrap 'pathetic' Leyla storyline

Fed up of fans of ITV soap Emmerdale have called on bosses of the show to scrap a storyline involving Leyla Cavanagh.

Recently, viewers have watched her develop a cocaine addiction which she has kept a secret from everyone apart from her friend Suzy Merton. Leyla has sworn to Suzy she will quit but is yet to do so and in tonight's (June 3) episode she almost got caught out.

After almost crashing into an off duty police officer's car, Leyla chucked her drugs down the drain. At the end of the episode, she was seen buying more drugs off Jason Denshaw, who is played by ex-Hollyoaks actor Parry Glasspool.

But it seems that the storyline hasn't exactly gripped fans of the show with many panning it on Twitter during Friday night's instalment of the hit ITV show.

@mikepriestley13 said: "It’s gone from the ridiculous storyline of meena to the ridiculous storyline of Leyla being a druggy #Emmerdale", with @DhirAvni tweeting: "This Leyla drug SL is getting more farcical."

@sparkysue tweeted: "This Leyla storyline is pathetic. There’s too many druggies and alcoholics in #Emmerdale", with @GavinEvs posting: "This leyla/lola story is bloody pathetic #emmerdale."
