ITV Dancing On Ice viewers pinpoint moment Regan Gascoigne won show as he gets hours sleep before This Morning

After weeks of impressing the ice panel and viewers watching at home, it was Regan Gascoigne who was crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice 2022.

The singer and dancer, 26, and his professional partner, Karina Manta, saw off competition from Brendan Cole, who finished second and won the public vote during Sunday's glittering final.

Earlier in the episode Regan and the former Strictly Come Dancing star also competed against fellow finalist Kimberly Wyatt, performing two different routines in a bid to make it one step closer to the trophy with one being choreographed especially by skating legends and show judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

However, only two were allowed to perform the Bolero routine for their final skate, which was inspired by judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s 1984 Winter Olympics skating performance, and it was Kimberly and partner Mark Hanretty who found themselves finishing in third place.

Both Regan and Karina, and Brendan and Vanessa Bauer took to the ice for the final time with their own version of the Bolero after already receiving two sets of perfect scores from the ice panel - including Torvill, Dean, Oti Mabuse, and Ashley Banjo. Following his final performance an emotional Regan, who is the son of former England footballer Paul, said: “It’s hard to keep it together, it was very special. I genuinely did not think I would get the chance to do it."

Then, watched on by his proud mum Sheryl and half-sister Bianca, hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield revealed that Regan had received the most public votes, therefore, making him the Dancing On Ice 2022 champ. Struggling to hold back his tears as he lifted the trophy, he said: "I am so overwhelmed, I never thought it was possible."

And as fans were taking to social media to congratulate Regan and Karina on their emotional win, others were pointing out the moment they knew the pair would win.

@imLucyIrving tweeted: "So so so elated for @regangascoigne. As soon as he stepped onto that ice I knew he was a winner! What a babe #DancingOnIce #DOI #regan."

"#DancingOnIce SO SO SO DESERVED, he’s such a beautiful soul and an amazing performer. My winner from day one!! Congratulations @regangascoigne," @daleconor commented.

@romyzeze said: "Some years the public decide who they want to win from the start of the series and that definitely happened this year. Congratulations." "Winner from day 1," @gaynorwatson echoed.

And Regan clearly had a busy night celebrating as when he appeared on This Morning on Monday he sounded a little hoarse as he chatting to hosts Holly and Phil. When asked how much sleep he had, Regan laughed and replied: "An hour!"

After the Dancing On Ice live finale and the after-party that followed, the 2022 winner of the ITV skating show could be seen with his sister Bianca at 2.30am making a swift exit from the studios, according to the Irish Mirror.

Driven by his mum Sheryl, Regan and Bianca could be seen looking like they had partied hard while in the back seat of the car, while Sheryl gave a thumbs up to the paps.
