ITV Corrie's Millie Gibson cuddles up to Mikey North before revealing big trip plans in glam This Morning appearance

Coronation Street stars Millie Gibson and Mikey North looked closer than ever as they headed down to London for a joint TV appearance - despite their on-screen characters being at war.

Millie, who is known for playing Kelly Neelan in the ITV soap, and Gary Windass actor Mikey North left Manchester for a trip down south to appear on This Morning as their huge storyline reaches its conclusion on Friday night (September 23). Three years after Gary killed her dad, Rick, Kelly discovered the truth.

Instantly enraged and seeking revenge, she got in touch with her kidnapper and offered him £10,000 to bump her guardian off. And her plan became a reality earlier this week when Kelly told Gary she knew he had killed her dad. She then legged it out of the Bistro, luring him in Kieron's path.

And before viewers knew it, Gary was knocked out, bundled into the back of a van and taken to the woods where he was forced to dig his own grave. But Kelly later had a change of heart and tried to get Kieron to stop. But after she told him the hotel she was at, he arrived and kidnapped her again. Meanwhile, Gary had just got to the hotel to warn her after he managed to escape his captor's crutches by hitting and killing him with a shovel.

But in Friday night's trip to Weatherfield, Corrie fans will discover who dies as a gun shot rings out with both Gary and Kelly's lives hanging in the balance. "In terms of this climax, right, Millie you've confirmed you're leaving the soap," Dermot O'Leary said during Millie and Mikey's earlier appearance on This Morning.

"We know someone is going to get shot tonight, we don't know who, am I just joining the dots here or are you going to do a switcheroo on us?" To which Mikey replied: "We have to be so careful what we say but someone is getting shot tonight, there is a gun, Millie is leaving."

And despite her time on the cobbles being over, she won't be escaping Corrie for a short while yet as she and Mikey are off on a big press trip to Canada, where more people watch the ITV soap than in the UK. "Corrie is huge in Canada," Dermot exclaimed as Mikey replied: "It's got a bigger audience share in Canada than it does here.

"So we're going to go there in a couple of weeks and meet some fans and tour around Canada." As Alsion joked about it being a "bit of a jolly", Millie laughed and agreed. But it's not Mikey's first time taking to soap on the road. "I've done it a few time but this is the first time I'm going with Millie." Millie, 18, then chipped in: "It's a nice goodbye. I'm really looking forward to it."

And Millie put on a glam display as she sat on This Morning's famous sofa. The actress donned a pale orange silky summer dress with ruched detailing and a thigh-high split. She paired the glam outfit with a pair of crips white trainers and styled her blonde locks in a half-up half-down style.

On Thursday night, Millie took to Instagram to share a snap of her and Mikey, who has starred in Corrie for 14 years, enjoying the London nightlife. She threw her arms around her former co-star as a red neon sign lit up in the background reading: "The Small Disco." And they weren't alone.

Millie was joined by the 'Mrs', her bestie Tanisha Gorey who plays Asha Alahan in the ITV soap. The pair posed in the same London bar for a photo before getting to spend the night in the capital. On Friday morning, Tanisha shared a video of the pair enjoying a hotel breakfast.

Showing Millie getting ready to tuck into eggs and avocado on toast, Tanisha penned: "Breakfast with a view @milliegibbo," to which the departing soap star replied: "Hey," with an egg in a frying pan emoji.
