ITV Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon leaves fans in awe with flexible snaps alongside husband

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has impressed fans as she went up against her husband in a headstand-off. Fans of the actress, who plays Maria Windass in the ITV soap, will be aware she is partial to a bit of yoga.

And it appears her time and effort put into the exercise have paid off as she showed off her skills in a string of snaps she posted on Instagram. The Eccles-born soap star, who has appeared in Corrie for 22 years, could be seen with her yoga mat in a green field that was adorned with yellow flowers.

Samia was donning a pair of black gym shorts and grey T-shirt as she got into position, showing off a split-leg headstand. Another image showed the 40-year-old doing a standard headstand with her long legs pointed straight into the air.

And her hubby Sylvain Longchambon, who she met while competing in ITV's Dancing On Ice, also got in on the action, copying his wife's moves while topless in the sunshine and donning a grey pair of sport shorts.

"His n Hers headstands," Samia captioned the string of snaps to her 419,000 followers before tagging Sylvain and adding the hashtags ' yogi', 'sunday stretch' and 'namaste'.

Joel Adams, who is one of the brains behind Manchester's Mana restaurant, responded to Samia's post: "Your form is much better there Sam, Syl needs to up his game," to which the Eccles-born star replied: "For once I beat #goldenballs?!" with a crying laughing face emoji.

But fans were in awe of their moves. @annhughes4396 said: "Brilliant,I'd love to be able to do that!" @michellewardingley wrote: "Amazing @samia_longchambon." @tillymint1966 shared: "Bl**dy marvellous." @versace.the.afghanhound commented: "For real? Good for you guys!"

@danny731___ replied: "[applause emojis] well impressive." @glamourinthecountry penned: "It’s a 10 from me Sam!" @mariebrunton23 responded: "Absolutely love it." @duncanoconnor7 added: "Some core strength you two have."

Samia celebrated her 40th birthday last month but shared how she had planned a big party but scrapped the idea after her anxiety about hosting reached fever pitch. Samia has been open about her anxiety struggles in the past. Last year she revealed on Loose Women that she found herself receiving an asthma diagnosis as a child when she was actually suffering from crippling anxiety.

She was applauded last year when she revealed she had achieved a diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). But as she approached her milestone birthday, Samis finally took ownership of her mental health and put her happiness first. "I know with the job I do this sounds like I’m contradicting myself but I hate being the centre of attention and I feel too nervous to have a party," she told OK! during a big birthday photoshoot with hubby Sylvain.

But it was Samia's age that caught her fans' attention thanks to her ageless look. And the yoga fanatic credits her youthful looks to her Lebanese heritage on her father Joseph's side. "My dad passed away when he was 65, he didn’t really have wrinkles," she told OK! "I care about my appearance and I’m lucky I don’t have any wrinkles but I can tell I look older in the mornings – my face takes longer to wake up. And I have to get my roots done every month to fend off the greys."
