ITV Coronation Street's Abi actress Sally Carman floors fans with off-screen look as she cosies up to co-star

Coronation Street star Sally Carman looked completely different to her on-screen character as she made an appearance on a different TV show. The actress, who plays Abi Franklin in the ITV soap, appeared on This Morning on Friday (May 27) alongside on-screen husband Michael Le Vell, aka Kevin Webster.

The pair appeared in the ITV daytime show's studio to chat to hosts Alison Hammond and Craig Doyle about being at the centre of another dramatic week on the cobbles. As Corrie fans know, Kevin left Abi after discovering she had cheated on him but in a shock twist Abi gave birth prematurely to a surprise baby.

Fast forward a couple of months and it was revealed that Imran Habeeb was the father and the pair have since been locked in a custody battle. However, recovering drug addict Abi is being played by the lawyer who is using shock tactics to get his way. And for now it has worked as he and new wife Toyah have been granted custody of the little boy.

And next week, the battle for Alfie intensifies between parents Abi and Imran, and the residents of the street will face the consequences in an unmissable week which promises chaos and carnage on the cobbles. Corrie has since revealed it will involve a crash, which will air next week with a change to usual transmission times as the soap will air half an hour episodes Monday to Friday at 7.30pm.

And as questions start to be asked about how the crash happened Abi and Kevin find themselves under suspicion from the police. But speaking on This Morning, Sally appeared to tease happier time ahead for her character.

Sally as Abi in Coronation Street (ITV)

Host Alison said: "Abi, I feel so sorry for her because her life is just so tragic. It always goes wrong with her. When is she going to get a happy ending?"

But Sally replied: "She needs to get a grip! She does. It’s time, isn’t it? She has to try harder. I think maybe there’s one on the horizon? I don’t know, can’t say any more." And during Friday night's trip to the cobbles, fans watched as Kevin confessed he still loved Abi while she plans to do a runner to Costa Rica with her son.

Sally and Michael on This Morning (ITV)

However, while appearing on This Morning to chat about her latest storyline, viewers couldn't help but gush over Sally's stunning look. The 41-year-old donned a floral summer dress with the short sleeves showing off her intricate arm tattoos. She also donned a large pair of glasses and had her short blonde locks curled to perfection.

One viewer said: "Sally looks beautiful! Love Abi." Another wrote: "She is stunning in real life, they make her look so drab as Abbie lol." A third added: "I love Sally/Abi's tattoo #ThisMorning." A viewer wrote: "@sallycarman1 looks gorgeous on @thismorning."

Prior to their appearance on the famous sofa, Sally and Michael cosied up for a few candid snaps. Sharing one of the pair sharing a laugh on Instagram, Sally said: "Love him #corrie #legend #bestbuds."

Co-star Sally Ann Matthews was among the first to comment, writing: "What a gorgeous picture," before Simon Gregson said: "Great photo." She also shared another photo of the pair on Twitter which showed them smiling and looking into each other's eyes. "Can’t stand him," she sarcastically captioned the photo.
