ITV Coronation Street fans spot flaw in Kelly Neelan's discovery as exit week for Millie Gibson begins

Coronation Street fans were quick to point out a flaw in the scenes where Kelly Neelan discovered her mum wasn't the one who killed her dad - and that it was Gary Windass.

Following the death of both Rick and Laura Neelan, Gary and his wife Maria Windass have become Kelly's guardians. Former loan shark Gary has become a father figure to the teen, paying a keen interest in her life after killing her dad in self-defence in 2019 when the late loan shark threatened him and his family.

Earlier this year, viewers of the ITV soap were stunned when a dying Laura took the blame for killing Rick after discovering Gary was responsible. Kelly, played by Millie Gibson, was distraught and turned her back on her mum in her final days, leading to her missing the chance to say goodbye.

Fans already know that Millie is bowing out of Weatherfield after three years and that she and Gary will both be in danger when her plans to hire someone to kill him goes drastically wrong. During Sunday night's trip to the cobbles, Corrie viewers saw the start of the explosive storyline which will continue as part of a 'Super Soap Week' special.

Kelly was visited by one of her mum's former friends and he came with some of Laura's old belongings which she had left in Spain. The teen didn't appear interested at first but then started to rifle through the keepsakes. In amongst her late mum's stuff, Kelly found a digital camera and looked through the old photos.

It is then she discovered images which proved that Laura was out of the country on June 17, 2019, the date she said she had killed Rick. Kelly initially held back on sharing what she had found with Gary but when she did, he claimed Laura must have got it wrong and brushed her off.

But her dad's former office assistant Sharon couldn't lie for Gary and ended up spilling the truth to Kelly, who immediately burst into tears and couldn't believe what she was hearing.

However, as the scenes unfolded after the camera discovery, Corrie couldn't help but point out an error as they refused to believe the camera would still have the battery life to be switched on after being left unused for three years. @helsrachel86 tweeted: "As if the battery on the camera would still be charged up #corrie."

@phdannmarie commented: "So the digital camera holds charge for like over 3 years eh ok #Corrie." @MissLMunster posted: "As if the battery would still be charged in that camera and nobody has used a compact camera for about 10 years #corrie." @SmalesRachel asked: "Where can i get a camera that holds battery like that?!! #Corrie."
