ITV Coronation Street fans ask 'where's Craig' as they point out police error in Peter Barlow scenes

Coronation Street where quick to question Craig Tinker's whereabouts as they pointed out a police error in Peter Barlow's latest scenes. Fans tuned in to Monday night's edition of the ITV soap to see the recovering alcoholic discover the surgeon who help to save his life was also playing a sick game.

Last week, nurse, and Peter's neighbour, Aggie Bailey was left distressed when surgeon Mr Thorne felt that Aggie was trying to make him look incompetent in front of a patient and issued her with a verbal warning. However, she ended up overhearing Mr Thorne bragging to a colleague about how he rushed Peter's liver transplant operation in order to complete it in record time to win a bet.

Aggie was soon seen telling another nurse that someone has reported Mr Thorne and later discovers that all Mr Thorne’s operations have been cancelled until further notice. The well-respected surgeon then accosted Aggie and told her that he plans to make her life a misery.

During the latest trip to the cobbles, Peter was thrilled as he was given a clean bill of health a year after his life-saving transplant. Eager to thank Mr Thorne, he brought him bottle of whisky and headed to the hospital with wife Carla to thank him personally. However, when they arrived it was left to Aggie to tell them Mr Thorne wasn't around.

She then took the couple to a private room where she broke the news to him and Carla about what she had discovered. Understandably, Peter was furious and demanded an explanation and an apology. But with Aggie unable to help, she offered to get a manager to explain what was happening.

And it only got worse for Peter as he was told that Mr Thorne had taken a selfie with his old liver in the operating theatre which he then shared with a colleague in a WhatsApp chat with the vile message 'anyone for foie gras?'

Despite Carla and his dad Ken's best efforts to calm him down, Peter couldn't just sit back and wait for the hospital investigation to make a decision. So later, an angry Peter declared that he was going to put a stop to his abuse of power and later found Mr Thorne in a hotel restaurant.

He demanded an apology but the surgeon wound him up with his attitude in front of his high-brow friend and other diners who were watching on aghast. But Peter snapped and ended up punching Mr Thorne just as the police came through the doors leading to him being arrested and later charged at the station with assault.

But Corrie fans were left baffled at how quickly the police arrived, just as Peter committed his crime to whisk him away and took to social media to share their thoughts.

Derek Robinson shared on Facebook: "Love how the police always turn up 5 seconds after someone hits someone, you just knew what was going to happen when Peter clobbered the surgeon." Emme Brown wrote: "Police are on standby in soapland, real-world it take them a month to rock up."

@CarlRichard70 tweeted: "How quick did the police arrive to arrest Peter? He'd only just punched that bloke and they were there in literally seconds! #Corrie."

"Flipping heck the police anticipated Peter hitting Thorne...they must've been lurking outside #Corrie," @moore95_pamela shared.

@stopmessingme complained: "You can see that this is NOT REAL LIFE…..police turn up in seconds….and they can get to see a doctor! Amazing! #Corrie."

They were also quick to point out that someone was missing. "Hey, where's PC Tinker?" Sue Minty asked to which Emme Wakefield replied: "I thought this, I genuinely expected him to turn up."

But Allison Squire said: He's too busy on ITV at the moment," with Nan Wilson replying: "Competiting at the games lol."

They are referring to the actor who plays him, Colson Smith, spending this week appearing live every night on ITV in the network's new show, The Games. The soap star has spent three months training and being professionally coached for a series of Olympic-style events before competing live to the nation alongside 11 other celebs.
