ITV Coronation Street Elle Mulvaney's plea prompts co-star to tell her 'love you'

Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney was supported as she issued an important plea.

The soap star is renowned for her role as Amy Barlow in the long-running ITV show. The 20-year-old has played the character on the Cobbles since 2010.

The actress regularly shares updates of her life away from the screen on Instagram and has taken to social media to show her support for Good Morning Britain's anti loneliness campaign. She said: "I’m posting for the 1 Million Minutes campaign against loneliness for the 7th year this year.

"We all get lonely - and although recognising that it’s hard, it’s important to remember there are always people around to help. For me, my family and friends have always been my support network whenever I have felt lonely or low. I will forever be grateful for them."

Corrie has recently showed the importance of friendship as Amy has been supportive for her friend Summer Spellman as she endures a difficult period on the show. Summer is played by Harriet Bibby on the show and the two soap stars enjoy a close friendship away from the screen.

Harriet told the ECHO how the two recently enjoyed a shopping trip to Liverpool and she took to the comments to issue an emotional message of support after the plea. She said: "Love you sis."

Amy is embroiled in a relationship with Jacob Hay on Corrie. The character is played by Jack James Ryan and he also issued a message of support. He said: "You’ve genuinely been my absolute rock this past year. So much love x"
