Bruno Tonioli has kicked off his Britain's Got Talent judging debut with hilarious buzzer gaffes, a speechless reaction to the opening act and by joking that he'll be sacked after never having seen the show before and not knowing how it works.
Fellow judge Alesha Dixon had to explain to the Italian dancer, who has been a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, the rules of the show and when and when not to press the buzzer. This came after he watched the opening act, a keyboard playing man dressed as Darth Vader, and looked bemused and said he was 'speechless.'
Simon was well into Darth on the keyboard as a Star Wars fan, and it took Amanda Holden to press his buzzer to end the chirpy performance which was accompanied by a load of Star Wars puns from Ant McPartlin. Amanda and Alesha had no time for the Dark Side, while Bruno looked on utterly bemused.
"[It was] torture," said Bruno, who said the iconic movie villain's musical turn was not appropriate for King Charles. "I am speechless, definitely the Force not with you. "What is going on? I really don't have a clue. Isn't this show completely bonkers?"

Next, a nose-playing recorder player, Mikko, from Finland, threw Bruno off even more. As he put the instrument to his nose, Bruno cried: "Oh no," and perhaps wondered why he left Strictly at all. He said: "It's a no from me," and pressed his buzzer, thinking that's what he had to do. Simon told him he didn't have to press his buzzer, while Ant shouted from the stage to explain the rules to Bruno.
"Oh I don't have to do that as well? Sorry. You do it when the act is on. They're going to sack me you know," he said to the audience.
At the opening of the new episode Bruno said he was excited as a kid at Christmas ahead of his debut, which sees him replace David Walliams - find out more on why David left here - and chanted at by hosts Ant and Dec and the audience. He told the audience: "I am thrilled to be here and very, very nervous." Alesha hugged him and said 'Welcome to the show."
