ITV Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway forced to halt live on air as Stephen Mulhern gives health update

Last night's episode of ITV Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway left viewers worried, after one of its stars suffered a small accident live on air. The mishap didn't go unnoticed by viewers, who spotted it in the background.

The popular ITV Saturday night show was going smoothly, with Ant and Dec's 'minute of happiness' feature - which is popular amongst viewers - giving everyone the dose of feel good we all need at the minute. During the feature, the Geordie duo dished out tickets to Orlando as part of the end of the series show.

Appearing alongside Ant and Dec were some familiar faces, who people are likely to see on a trip to Orlando's theme parks. Characters such as Shrek, Puss in Boots and Trolls joined Ant and Dec for the giveaway bonanza.

"Funniest thing seeing Shrek fall off the stage on #SaturdayNightTakeaway," a fifth wrote, whilst a sixth penned: "Shrek falling over is the funniest thing I've seen all week. #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

Later, Stephen Mulhern confirmed that Shrek was ok as fans rushed to social media to share the clip. Stopping the show mid-air, the presenter provided the audience with a health update.

He halted the show to announce: "Don't worry if you saw Shrek fall off the stage earlier in the programme. Don't fear, he's in A&E', but quickly reassured the audience that the man inside the costume was actually okay. Stephen said: "I'm joking, he's fine."
