RAIPUR: International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour M 15 got off to an impressive start in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai with qualifying rounds played on Sunday and Monday respectively.
The second round qualifying matches were played on Monday in which Ranjit Virali of India defeated his counterpart Madhavi Kamath by 6-3, 7-6 (2).
Dhiraj Srinivasan defeated Lakshya Gupta by 6-2,2-1, Ajay Malik defeated Tirth Shashank by 6-3,5-7 (10&6), Anurag Agrawal defeated Manav Jain by 6-4 7-6(11), Yas Chaurasia defeated Dhruv Para by 2-6,6-4,(10-3) while Raghav Jai Singhani defeated Chandril Sood by 6-2, 6-2, Shivang Bhatnagar defeated Shivam Khanna by 6-1,6-3.
Ivan Denisov of Russia defeated Shahbaz Khan of India by 6-3, 6-4, Suraj Prabuddha defeated Parth Agrawal by 6-2,6-2, Sushant Dabas defeated Lakshit Sood by 7-5,7-6 and Manish Ganesh defeated Chinmay Dev Chauhan by 6-2,6-4 to qualify for the Main Draw of the tournament.
The main draw matches will start from 9.30 am on Tuesday.
The tournament, which is being organised under the aegis of Chhattisgarh State Tennis Association and All India Tennis Association, is witnessing the participation of players from India, the USA, Israel, Russia, Japan, Ukraine, Serbia and the Chez Republic.
