It's cherry blossom season - share your pictures

It's springtime and cherry blossom season is in full bloom. We've seen stunning blossom in London and New York, and an excellent blog post from Jerry Nelson on how to get "the" cherry blossom shot. Now we'd love to see your snaps.

Have you been in DC for the big bloom? Or Japan during its legendary sakura (cherry blossom) season? Or maybe your own town blossoms pink in April and May?

We'll include the best submissions in a gallery on the Guardian site. Please bear in mind that if you do happen to include any pictures of under 16s, we need parental permission to publish the photos so do make that explicit in the text when you submit them.

You can share your cherry blossom photos, videos and stories with GuardianWitness by clicking on the blue 'Contribute' button, or if you're out and about you can download the free GuardianWitness app for smartphones. We will publish the most interesting submissions on the Guardian site.

GuardianWitness is the home of user-generated content on the Guardian. Contribute your video, pictures and stories, and browse news, reviews and creations submitted by others. Posts will be reviewed prior to publication on GuardianWitness, and the best pieces will feature on the Guardian site.
