'It's been so long' - The Nottingham Forest injury update that fans can't get enough of

Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to the brilliant sight that is defender Tendayi Darikwa back in action with the club.

Darikwa has been out since pre-season, with the Zimbabwe international suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury on the eve of the new season.

Indeed, the West Bridgford-born right-back hasn't played since a match for his country in June.

Now he's been pictured in action for the Reds in one of their behind-closed-doors matches ahead of the return of the campaign after a break of over three months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Darikwa was seen jostling for the ball with fellow West Bridgford man Alex Mighten and fans have had their say as Sabri Lamouchi is handed another big injury boost ahead of the final nine matches of the season.

Forest are looking to secure their play-off spot with the club currently in fifth place, five points clear of Bristol City in seventh.

Along with Darikwa coming back, January signing Nuno da Costa will also be up to speed while Samba Sow (knee) and Tiago Silva (appendicitis) will have shaken off their respective injuries.

And fans were very pleased to see Darikwa back especially.

"Great to see you out there," one fan said.

"Tendayi appreciation society," added another.

A third said: "Good too see darikwa playing!!

"Great to see Ten back in action, it's been so long, said a fourth.

"Great to see Darikwa back," added another fan.

Darikwa was signed from Burnley in 2017 and has made 63 appearances for the club.

Although born in Nottinghamshire, he began his career across the Derbyshire border with Chesterfield.
