Oct. 30--Neighbors of a home in Riverside that erected thousands of LED lights synchronized to pulsing music for Halloween can either rejoice or scream because it's back like Johnny in "The Shining."
With its animated singing pumpkins, tombstones and synchronized light display, the home on Deercreek Drive generated both fans and foes earlier this month. On Sunday, it appeared the foes had won out after police shut the attraction down due to noise complaints.
But in a last-ditch effort, the home's residents, Kevin and Ashley Judd, obtained a special event permit, giving fans another shot at seeing the musical display.
"Like the GhostBusters said in the movies 'We're Baaack!' We could not have done it without the support of the community so thank you," the Judds wrote in a Facebook post for Creative Lighting Displays, which created the Halloween attraction.
On Wednesday night, the show returned in time for Halloween, with dozens of people standing outside to watch.
The Judds urged visitors to obey parking signs, pick up after themselves and respect their neighbors -- conditions that are listed in the permit.
"This is good, clean, family-friendly entertainment," said Riverside City Councilman Paul Davis, who assisted in the permitting process to keep the attraction going.
The LED display will run until Friday night.
