'It’s a real honour' - Duncan Ferguson shares full reaction to new Everton mural

Duncan Ferguson has spoken of his pride after a new mural depicting him with Everton legend Howard Kendall was unveiled close to Goodison Park.

The artwork, displayed on the side of the Hot Wok restaurant, shows the ex-Blues striker being watched over by the club's most successful manager.

Furthermore, themural also includes the famous quote from the club's assistant manager, which reads: "When you play for Everton you forget about the rest. The rest mean nothing."

Two images of the striker on the mural show his playing days with the club and a passionate celebration when he was Everton's caretaker manager in December 2019.

The artwork was constructed by the urban art team MurWalls, a company which specialises in street art.

Ferguson told evertonfc.com : “It’s a real honour and a privilege to be part of a mural that also pays tribute to the great Howard Kendall.

“Everyone knows what Howard, this club and the supporters mean to me, so thank you to the fans and MurWalls.

“Just seeing the finished artwork and the fact it is so close to Goodison, fills me with pride.

"Good job they were good artists, they’ve not done a bad job on me.”
