'It might sound a bit crazy': Carter-Vickers' claim about Celtic's Braga defeat

Cameron Carter-Vickers didn't think Celtic were terrible against Braga on Thursday evening.

Brendan Rodgers' men fell to a 2-0 defeat against the Portuguese outfit, as goals in either half from Ricardo Horta and Gabri Martinez secured the victory.

Speaking after the match, Carter-Vickers looked ahead to Celtic's upcoming Europa League fixtures, during which they will face Sturm Graz, Midtjylland, Feyenoord, Roma, Bologna, and Utrecht.

He knows they need to start getting results, but believes there is a lot to build on after the display against Braga.

"I think all the games we have left will be tight games, but we are confident we can pick up the points we need," said the central defender.

"It might sound a bit crazy after losing 2-0, but I don’t think the performance was terrible tonight [Thursday]. The result was but performance-wise I think there is a lot we can build on.

"There are still six games left in our schedule, and if we can get the results we want, we will be in a good position. At the end of this European campaign, then we can assess where we are compared to last season, but of course, we want to be winning our home games."

Celtic are back in domestic action today as they welcome Motherwell to Parkhead, aiming to move within two points of league leaders Heart of Midlothian.
