ISRO PSLV-C54 Places Rarth Observation Satellite Into Orbit Successfully

ISRO PSLV-C54 successfully lifts off from Sriharikota

Sriharikota: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday successfully launched PSLV-C54 rocket carrying EOS-06, also known as Oceansat-3, and 8 nanosatellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The 44.4 metre tall rocket lifted off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre here.

After reaching the intended orbit 17 minutes after PSLV-C54 lifted off, the Earth Observation Satellite successfully separated from the rocket and was placed into orbit, ISRO chairman S Somanath said.

The Earth Observation Satellite-6 is the third-generation satellite in the Oceansat series. (with Agency inputs)
