NAGASAKI -- British novelist Kazuo Ishiguro will be made an honorary citizen of Nagasaki Prefecture, Nagasaki Gov. Hodo Nakamura said at a press conference on Friday.
Ishiguro, 63, who was born in the city of Nagasaki, won the Nobel Prize in Literature last year.
He lived in Nagasaki until the age of 5, before he moved to Britain with his parents. Nakamura said Ishiguro winning the Nobel Prize is "a great honor for local residents and the pride of this prefecture."
