ZywOo and Team Vitality are building a dynasty in CS2. The French squad have just won the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 with a 2-1 victory against The MongolZ in the grand final, capping off their absolute dominance in the first season of 2025.
Vitality have now secured their seventh consecutive trophy, starting with the IEM Katowice in February. And in every single one of those victories, ZywOo was named Most Valuable Player by HLTV. That’s certainly no fluke.
At the Austin Major, the French superstar AWPer delivered yet again with a 1.42 rating, showing off the kind of consistency that’s become his trademark. He was the top player in Stage 3, tallying a 1.58 rating to go ahead of Team Spirit’s donk (1.54) and sh1ro (1.42), FURIA’s molodoy (1.36), and FaZe Clan’s s1mple (1.35).
Sure, he had a forgettable start on Mirage in the grand final, but he bounced back in a big way, pulling off clutch plays when it mattered most and helping Vitality claim those dominant wins on Dust 2 and Inferno. He was also the one who fittingly closed out the 3vs4 clutch in the final round.
That Austin Major performance earned the “Chosen One” his 27th HLTV MVP medal, extending his record and lead over some of the biggest names in Counter-Strike, including s1mple (21), dev1ce (19), GeT_RiGhT (10), and kennyS (10). And 11 of those MVP awards have come in the CS2 era alone.
So, we get to this burning question: Is ZywOo the CS2 GOAT?

Well, it’s too early to tell. The professional CS2 scene is still in its early days, less than two years to be particular. But if I have to pick someone right now for the sake of this hot debate, then ZyWoo is undoubtedly him. He’s the face of the most dominant team at present, and his individual brilliance has never wavered.
Sure, donk and m0NESY deserve to be in the conversation, being the No. 1 and 2 players ahead of ZywOo last year. But the French sniper has got two Major trophies (including one in CS2), along with multiple S-tier titles under his belt, and he’s still only 24 years young. If his current form remains the same or improves even further, we’re not just talking CS2 GOAT here—we might be witnessing one of the greatest to ever play Counter-Strike.
