'Is this a joke?' - Tottenham fans question one key Jose Mourinho decision vs Crystal Palace

Jose Mourinho has made just the one change to his Tottenham team to face Crystal Palace.

Coming into the game at Selhurst Park on the back of three successive wins, Spurs need results to go their way if they are to finish in sixth and clinch a Europa League spot.

Wolves lead the race at present as they sit one point ahead of the Lilywhites, yet they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and that could open the door for Mourinho's men.

While Tottenham will be going all out to win at Palace, one point would be enough if Nuno Espirito Santo's team lose across the capital.

Mourinho admits Spurs in 'hands of others' in battle for European qualification

With many predicting Mourinho to name the same team for the fourth match on the trot, the only change sees Eric Dier come in for Davinson Sanchez at the back.

The ex-Sporting CP man has been absent over the last four matches due to suspension but he is brought straight back into the starting XI following his return.

However, there is no place in the side for Jan Vertonghen as he has to make do with a spot on the bench in what could be his final ever appearance for the club.

The Belgian international is out of contract following today's game and he will be free to look for a new club after eight years in N17.

Mourinho's decision not to start the 33-year-old hasn't exactly gone down too well with some fans and they've had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Crystal Palace have been on a nightmare run since the Premier League restart but Mourinho knows his side are going to be in for a tough game.

"It means nothing for me," he said at his pre-match press conference. "I never look at the opponents based on their run. I never look to the opponents based on their position in table.

"I look to the opponents by what they are in terms of their potential, their quality and organisation.

"That's the way I look to opponents. So for me, Palace are a very good team that had a very good season with good results, always competing, even against the top teams, getting results or trying to get them, making it really difficult for big opposition.

"Great coach, lots of experience, very good players. Last match of the season, it's going to be hard."
