Is Sunderland Airshow free to visit? There are aerial events but lots more on the ground

Thousands of visitors are set to pour into Sunderland for the city's annual airshow.

Display teams from the are due to perform over the weekend of July 26 - July 28, along with top pilots from air forces around the world.

Sophie Ellis Bextor and Scouting for Girls are among the music acts performing live.

The displays will take place over the sea, close to Roker Seafront, with Cliffe Park and Recreation Park hosting stalls, simulators and stages.

When is Sunderland Airshow?

This year's Sunderland Airshow takes place on Friday July 26, Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28

The show is open between 2pm and 10pm on the Friday, 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and 10.30am - 5pm on the Sunday.

How much does it cost to go to Sunderland Airshow?

Entry to the airshow is free, although some attractions, like fair ground rides and simulators, do charge.

There is also a fee to use the park and ride service.
