Slack down: Thousands of users complain of outage on messaging site

Thousands of officer workers are asking is Slack down, as many struggle to get on the popular messaging site.

Users have been reporting ongoing issues with the website since around 3pm today.

According to downdetector.co.uk 57% per cent of people with problems, say the concern is with connecting, while 40% say they can't send messages.

Slack is a messaging service which has become ever more popular during lockdown as many firms work remotely as staff working from home.

Slack's official page on Twitter initially fell short of acknowledging there was anything wrong but it has now sent out an update saying it is aware of disruptions.

A tweet reads: "Customers may experience issues connecting to Slack to loading channels at this time. Our team is on the case and we will keep you posted. Apologies for any disruption."

The disruption came as people all over the world get back to work after the holidays.

People have reacted to the faulty system by posting hilarious memes of their rocky start to 2021.

One user was just a little bit harsher on the messaging giant as they said: "Slack also runs an apparently multi-billion dollar enterprise and should, perhaps, have some business continuity such that crashing on Mondays isn't a literal meme."

Slack responded to a user on Twitter about 30 minutes ago saying they don't yet have an estimate of when the site will be back up and running.

But they advised people to check its website for all the latest updates.
