Reports of a possible remake of the cult film, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ have been doing the rounds for the longest time. Recently, director Rajkumar Santoshi finally addressed the rumours and spilled some beans on the same.
Talking about the concept of remakes and sequels, Rajkumar told a news portal that he doesn’t believe in them as according to him, once it is made, it is done with. The filmmaker added that if he finds a story like ‘Mahabharata’ then that cannot be done in three hours. So, it will be in parts. Other than that, there is nothing like a sequel. He also revealed that people often ask him to remake ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ but he tells them he cannot remake it. He can make another film in the same genre maybe, but it won’t be ‘Andaz Apna Apna’.
Elaborating further, Santoshi added he is making a film with two young male stars with two young female stars. He has even talked to stars and they have told him that they wish to do a film like ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. He has worked on the subject and the title he has finalised is ‘Ada Apni Apni’. The director is planning to announce the film by the end of the year. Rajkumar stated that people keep talking about ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ remake, but he is done with it. He is making ‘Ada Apni Apni’ and according to him, maybe it will be better than ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. He doesn’t want to make ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ a benchmark, he told Hindustan Times.
‘Andaz Apna Apna’ starred Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon in lead roles.
