Is Morecambe vs Sunderland on TV? Coverage details, live stream info, kick-off time and more

Sunderland take on Morecambe at the Mazuma Stadium on Saturday, in the final game of the League One season. The game kicks-off at 12.30pm, and for both clubs there is a lot riding on the encounter.

Following their midweek 1-1 draw against Rotherham United on Wearside, in which Millers defender Michael Ihiekwe scored at both ends, Alex Neil's side go into the game in fifth place in the table, knowing that a win would guarantee them a play-off place. If the Black Cats do not win, they will still qualify for the play-offs if they match the result of either Plymouth or Wycombe this weekend.

Plymouth are at home to promotion-chasing MK Dons, while Wycombe travel to Burton Albion. As for Morecambe, their 2-0 defeat at MK Dons last weekend means they go into the final game not yet certain of survival.

Derek Adams' side is two points clear of the relegation zone, but can still be caught by Gillingham and Fleetwood. Even a draw will not guarantee safety, depending on what happens elsewhere, however a win would ensure another season in the third tier rather than a rapid return to League Two.

Sunderland beat Morecambe 5-0 at the Stadium of Light in December, with Nathan Broadhead scoring twice, and Ross Stewart, Alex Pritchard, and Leon Dajaku one apiece. Here is everything you need to know ahead of Saturday's encounter.

What is the early team news ahead of Morecambe vs Sunderland?

Defender Dennis Cirkin is unlikely to feature at Morecambe due to the calf strain that has kept him out of Sunderland's last two games, although Alex Neil says he is 'not far away' which may mean he would be available if the Black Cats qualify for the play-offs.

But the groin injury which saw Carl Winchester limp out of Sunderland's win against Cambridge last weekend is more serious and Neil says the defender will be sidelined for 'weeks rather than days', which means he will not play at Morecambe or in any potential play-off semi-finals, and even if the Black Cats reach the play-off final at Wembley in three weeks' time it is doubtful whether he could feature.

Leon Dajaku has been ill and will not return from his native Germany until next week.

Long-term absentees Aiden McGeady, Jordan Willis, and Niall Huggins will again be missing. McGeady has been out of action since November with a knee ligament problem - although he resumed training last week - while Willis (patella tendon), and Huggins (heel), have already been ruled out until next term.
