Is Georgia’s 2021 signing class complete?

Georgia did not add anybody new to its 2021 signing class on Wednesday’s National Singing Day, but that does not necessarily mean the Bulldogs and Kirby Smart are done just yet.

In a National Signing Day interview on 680 The Fan, Smart hinted that the Dawgs may not yet be done with the class and outlined a few possible ways UGA may be able to still add some players.

“Well we’re always looking,” Smart said. “As soon as a kid pops in, kid jumps in from a different place, we’re always looking and investigating guys. We’re really slow to jump on something like that because, for us, we’ve got to know that that kid is going to be able to play right away. He’s got to be able to help us and (we will) use it that way. We’ll look and see. I think at the end of some spring practices you’ll see some more movement in there when guys are coming out of spring to kind of see where they are on depth charts. There’ll be another movement of guys. We’ll be looking to get some guys but we’re also always looking at high school guys. There’s two or three scenarios that are out there that people aren’t thinking outside of the box that it’ll be interesting to see how they play out. If you look back last year at this time and say, ‘okay, if a kid’s not signed, how did they end up at a place?’ There’s been reclassifications. There’s been kids that have announced where they’re going out of the portal that are not actually signed. You don’t actually sign until you enroll, so there’s a lot of wiggle room left for lot of these kids and it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.”

If Georgia is to sign a player late in the class, it would not be the first time. There’s Roquan Smith as an example and there’s Brian Herrien, who signed very late in the 2016 class.

Look for UGA, which is two under the 85 scholarship limit, to target a cornerback.
