Irish wedding guests in stitches as bride pranks groom with first dance bluff

A wedding party in Cork were in bits over the weekend after the groom was sold a great bluff for his first dance.

There was a great turnout over the weekend as Keith and Melanie Edwards tied the knot with family and friends heading over to a very glam reception in the Kinglsey Hotel afterwards.

As the night went on the time eventually came around for their first dance together, and unbeknown to Keith his new bride had set him up for a bit of a surprise, CorkBeo reports.

DJ Billy MacGaley, who's well known in Cork and Kerry as ' BMG Sound ' was over the decks and explained how Dubliner Melanie pre-planned it all out with him.

As a massive Pulp Fiction fan, Keith had really wanted Chuck Berry to be their first song so he could show off his moves, however Melanie let on that it wasn't her cup of tea and instead pushed for Yazoo's 'Only You'.

The only thing was, she was actually more than happy with Chuck and she'd arranged with Billy that they'd play into 'Only You' before dropping in some Rock-and-Roll as a big surprise.

The plan went off better than anyone expected. The loved-up pair can be seen hitting the floor and locking eyes before the music drops out leaving Keith looking utterly bamboozled.

He then looks back to Melanie as he starts to realise something's up.

He points at her and says: "You're after setting something up!"

And sure enough, 'You Never Can Tell' drops and the party really starts!.

Speaking to CorkBeo Billy said he struggled to keep a straight face as it all unfolded.

He said: "It was supposed to look like I'd messed up. Melanie is a lovely bride and this was so much fun to do.

"We all had a great night, there were plenty of special request for different family members and she really put a lot of effort in for everyone.

"The staff in the Kingsley were loving it too. It's not something you see every day. I've been doing four or five weddings a week for the last few weeks and that's the first time I've gotten to prank someone on their own first dance."
