Irish people share their tips as to where the cheapest pints in the country are

With the hospitality sector reopening and Ireland's alcohol laws currently being debated with a view to being changed, pub culture is very much under the spotlight.

After some premises were closed for almost 18 months, the return of dining and drinking has been one of the most important steps in terms of easing lockdown restrictions.

However, as people flood back to the pub, there's increasing scrutiny on the price of alcohol and it was recently reported that the price of a pint went up right across the country when the pubs re-opened.

Lager hit the fiver mark in most places while Guinness went up ten cents to €4.80 a pint.

A glass of spirits and wine were also increased.

However, some bars in the Temple Bar area of Dublin were setting a new record in pricing and charging an astonishing €7.70 for a pint of Coors Light.

On the contrary, Helen's Bar in Kilmakilloge, Kerry was recently praised for providing "the cheapest pint in the country" to their patrons at €3.85.

Since this extremely good price for a pint of Guinness went viral, plenty of people have also chipped in with their recommendations for good value for a pint of the black stuff.

In terms of recommendations, Irish people have recommended the following places: Harrys Bar (Sligo), Dinny's Bar (Cork), The Snug (Dublin), John Mikes Bar (Limerick), Callanans (Cork), The Abbey Tavern (Cork).
