Peaky Blinders actor Emmett J Scanlan has told of the heartbreak of being separated from his daughter in lockdown.
The Dubliner, 41, who welcomed a baby boy with his Hollyoaks star wife Claire Cooper during the pandemic, said he cannot wait to return to Ireland to see 18-year-old Kayla.
Speaking from his UK home, Scanlan said: “I want to get home and bear hug my parents and my daughter.
“I haven’t seen her in seven months, it is the longest we have been separated.
“It was kind of weird too because my wife was heavily pregnant and the labour was very challenging so with
everything going on in the world it was intense.
“But you know we have little Ocean, he was born and beautiful.”
However, the former Hollyoaks and Guardians of the Galaxy star said he won’t be moving back to Ireland anytime soon.
The Fall actor, set to star in Virgin Media’s thriller The Deceived alongside Paul Mescal next week, added: “People in the UK have really embraced me and taken me into their homes and given me numerous chances.
“And now I get to go home as well, and I really enjoy going home to see my family.”
