Irish MMA star Ian Garry 'can't wait' to share UFC card with Conor McGregor

Irish MMA star Ian Garry has said he 'can't wait' to share a UFC card with Conor McGregor, after 'The Notorious' heaped praise on the Dubliner following Garry's win over Gabe Green at UFC 276.

'The Future' dominated Green on his way to a unanimous decision 30-27 victory in Las Vegas last weekend. And with that win, Garry moved to 3-0 in the UFC.

After Garry's most recent fight, 'Mystic Mac' took to Twitter to heap praise on the young prospect.

"Ian Garry was incredibly impressive this weekend. Fully immersed in it all. Enjoying every second.

"Willingness to engage / commit.

"The Potential for another “future” Irish MMA UFC champion rose by a real nice margin this weekend. Congrats Ian, keep going brother!"

Following his victory, Garry appeared on The MMA Hour this week to talk about how it feels to receive such praise from a man that has been an inspiration of his thorughout his fighting career.

“It’s obviously phenomenal,” Garry said. “No matter what he says about me or anything to do with my career, it’s always going to be amazing. I mean, I got a f****** tattoo on my arm because of the guy, to symbolize the whole weekend.

'The Future' is referencing a tattoo that he got after his first UFC win, a knockout victory over Mike Beltran at UFC 268. McGregor referred to Garry as a 'daisy' after his debut fight, with Garry then getting some ink in honour of McGregor's comments.

The 24-year old spoke openly about how important the former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion has been in his development. Additionally, Garry mentioned how their mutual admiration leads to them one day becoming teammates and hopefully sharing a UFC card together.

And the former Cage Warriors champion clearly has his sights set on bringing the UFC back to Dublin in the near future

Ian Garry tweet to McGregor

“I can’t wait for me and him to get on a card together, whenever he’s back,” Garry said.

“That would be massive for the Irish as well. That’d be massive for me. It would be a dream come true to share a card with the guy who inspired me to do this, to follow my dreams.

"I’ve always had a violent mind and a way to show that off, and MMA is that perfect place for me.”
