Irish girl who died in paddling pool tragedy described by parents as 'angel into heaven'

The parents of a two-year-old girl who died following a paddling pool accident in Laois have described their daughter as an "angel into heaven" in her RIP.ie death notice.

Little Hannah Kealy, 2, from Cremorgan, Timahoe, Co Laois, died after the incident involving a paddling pool close to her home on Wednesday, July 20.

She was rushed from the scene to Portlaoise Hospital before being transferred to Crumlin Children's Hospital and later Temple Street Children's Hospital where she died on Sunday.

She has been described as a "cherished and adored daughter of heartbroken parents Marie and Denis, much loved sister of Ella, treasured granddaughter of Margaret and John (Cahill) & Margaret and Tom (Kealy) and her dog Ruben."

The death notice posted on behalf of Hannah's parents described her as "an angel into heaven."

Tributes have been flooding in since Hannah's tragic death was announced on Monday with locals and strangers posting messages of comfort to the grieving Kealy family.

One woman from Kilkenny said: "My deepest sympathy to the parents of Hannah and grandparents and sister and all the family at this sad time you're in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know your little daughter Hannah but I understand your grief. I went through this three times, there's no words I can say will make any better but I keep praying for all family that God will give them the strength to carry on."

Another tribute read: "There is absolutely no words that can be said only to be assured you all are in everyone thoughts and prayers. I do not know you or your little angel Hannah but I can only imagine the pain you are suffering but please God in time you will cherish the wonderful two years ye had with your daughter and will smile again with your loved ones remembering Hannah."

Another family friend said: "My deepest sympathies on this heartbreaking news to both Marie, Denis, Ella and all the extended families on the sad loss of dear precious Hannah. She was such a beautiful little girl, and a joy to have known. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this unbelievable sad time. May she rest in peace."

Another wrote: "No words can be said. I'm heartbroken for Hannah's parents and sister Ella. All in my thoughts and prayers."
