Irish Champions Weekend day one full race card and tips for Leopardstown - list of runners on Saturday

The first of two days of top class horse racing action takes place at Leopardstown this afternoon as Irish Champions Weekend kicks off.

The eight-race card features two Group 1s, two Group 2s, one Group 3, a listed race and two incredibly competitive handicaps.

Just seven line up in the Irish Champion Stakes, but it is a high class field, as you would expect.

French raider Vadeni heads the market for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget and jockey Christophe Soumillon, who teamed up to win the the 10-furlong Group One prize with Almanzor in 2016.

Mishriff has made more than €13million in his career to date and was possibly unlucky not to beat Vadeni in the Eclipse. Colin Keane takes the ride on the John and Thady Gosden-trained runner.

Aidan O'Brien is aiming for his fourth consecutive victory in the race and his 11th in total. The Ballydoyle supremo runs three in Broome, Stone Age and Luxembourg, the latter of which looks his best chance after his winning return in the Royal Whip last month.
