Thunderstorms are set to ravage parts of Ireland during what looks to be the second hottest weather spell of the year.
Some weather stations recorded highs of 27C two weeks ago as the country basked in a mini-heatwave.
Temperatures dropped dramatically soon after as Ireland entered a cool, wet and windy period.
Met Eireann is now forecasting temperatures will hit as high as 22C over three consecutive days - but the weather chiefs have warned several thundery downpours may occur between Friday and Tuesday.
Here is a five-day forecast from Met Eireann:
Friday
Friday is set to be a cloudy day. There may be dry spells in the evening, but thundery rain could move into the southeast.
"Generally cloudy or dull today with showery spells of rain, heaviest in the north and east.
"Whilst long dry spells will develop, heavy thundery rain will begin to move into the southeast later this evening.
"Highest temperatures of 14 to 20 degrees Celsius, mildest in the west and northwest where some brighter spells will develop. Another breezy day with moderate to fresh northeast winds."
Saturday
Saturday will be warm with some sunny spells, but it will be a mostly cloudy day.
"Some sunny spells on Saturday, but overall cloudy with scattered showers and light northeast breezes.
"The showers are likely to be heaviest across the northwest, south Leinster and south Munster.
"Rather warm and humid; highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees Celsius, best values in sunshine."
Heavy showers will persist in the south overnight.
Sunday
Parts of Ireland will enjoy highs of 23C on Sunday - but there is a warning about thundery downpours.
A spokesman said: "Warm and humid with sunshine and slow moving heavy showers. Prolonged thundery downpours will occur, especially across the western half of the country with spot flooding and local hail.
"Highest temperatures 18 to 23 degrees Celsius, in mostly light westerly breezes.
"Humid overnight with further showers or longer spells of thundery rain, mainly across the north and west. Calm with some mist setting in. Lowest temperatures 11 to 14 degrees Celsius."
Monday
Met Eireann said: "Warm and humid day with hazy sunshine and scattered heavy thundery showers - Atlantic counties most at risk.
"Highest temperatures 17 to 22 degrees Celsius with light, variable breezes. Generally dry, calm and locally misty overnight with lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees Celsius."
Tuesday
Met Eireann said: "Another rather warm and humid day with sunshine and scattered heavy thundery showers - conversely the eastern half of the country will be most at risk this time.
"Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees Celsius, with just light variable breezes."
