Ireland weather: Nation to bake in 28C heat on Sunday but expert reveals one area that could miss out

Ireland is set to bake in 28C heat on Sunday with some areas reaching a hefty 32C on Monday and Tuesday.

As most of the nation enjoys some of the hottest weather seen in years, one weather expert has warned of an area that could miss out on the best of the summer weather.

Taking to Twitter, weather expert Alan O’Reilly said: “Sunday will see a lot of sunshine for most with just some high cloud, except for parts for Northeast which may see more cloud.

“The wind will be stronger than Saturday with a strong Southerly breeze in the afternoon. Becoming hot through the afternoon with temps of 21c to 28c.”

Meanwhile, there is a status yellow weather warning in place across the next few days because according to Met Eireann, “On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday exceptionally warm weather will occur over Ireland with daytime temperatures of 25 to 30 degrees generally and possibly up to 32 degrees in places on Monday.

“Nighttime temperatures will range from 15 to 20 degrees.”

The Irish forecaster went on to warn that the impacts of this hot weather could include:

  • Heat stress, especially for the more vulnerable population
  • High Solar UV index
  • Risk of water-related incidents

Highest temperatures of 22 to 28 degrees on Sunday will be felt in the midlands, in light to moderate southerly winds.

The outlook for next week, according to the Irish forecasters shows: “The spell of hot weather will continue over the weekend and early next week, with daytime temperatures widely reaching the mid to high twenties and possibly the low thirties. It will also be very warm by night, particularly on Monday night.”
