‘This is why we don’t eat out anymore’: Ohio Subway customer spends $7.99 on turkey flatbread. Then she sees what she gets

A woman decides to try a Subway turkey flatbread. However, she shares her shock when she unwraps the package to see what the sandwich chain put inside.

In a video with over 23,000 views, TikToker Brittanyann (@brittanyann233) sits at a table, about to eat the turkey flatbread. She says she paid $7.99 for the sandwich.

Then, she opens the flatbread to show the contents.

What was in the Subway turkey flatbread?

Inside, two pieces of spinach and a piece of turkey lay loosely on one side of the flatbread.

“Look at this,” she says, tossing the flatbread down in disappointment over the lack of contents.

Subway offers flatbread instead of a traditional sub roll to customers, who can customize which ingredients are pressed into the sandwich. On TikTok, other Subway customers show off flatbreads packed with ingredients of their choosing. Most appear around two inches thick, unlike Brittanyann’s flatbread.

However, other Subway customers on Reddit say they haven’t been satisfied with their flatbread orders.

On r/Subway, one user shows off a particularly flat flatbread and suggests that Subway may have switched its bread to something even thinner, like lavash.

Another commenter on the forum writes in August, “Just experienced this flat bread myself for the first and last time… The flatbread used the more like panini flatbread now it’s like a stale tortilla but even thinner. Officially done with subway for good.”

What did viewers think of the flatbread?

In the comments of Brittanyann’s video, viewers suggest how she should respond to Subway for the subpar sandwich.

“Put a postage stamp on it and mail it back,” one says, suggesting the flatbread is thin enough to disguise as a letter.

“I would insist on a refund because that is THEFT!” another exclaims.

“You should get half your money back, that’s only half percent turkey, the other half is care to guess,” a third jokes.

Others say they stopped going to Subway after prices continued to increase while portions decreased.

“Subway has gotten out of control! it was $40 for my husband and I the other night….no drinks! well hell we could have gone to a sit down dinner for that!” a commenter writes.

“I stopped going there when they got skimpy on their ingredients and I witnessed a manager bringing their employee to tears for adding too many pickles. I was done,” another says.

“Yeah I went to order my normal 7.79 subway wrap. It’s now almost $14. Similar ingredients as yours. I ate at home instead,” a third shares.
