Ireland weather: Met Eireann pinpoint this week's best days with 25 degrees expected in some counties

With the government set to meet this afternoon to discuss the future of indoor dining, it's likely that restaurants and pubs will still be reliant on outdoor service for the immediate future.

Thankfully, this week is set to continue the recent good weather we've experienced with highs of 25 degrees expected in some areas.s

In terms of the peak temperatures for each day, the mercury should reach the following highs; Monday (21 degrees), Tuesday (23 degrees), Wednesday (24 degrees), Thursday (24 degrees), Friday (25 degrees), Saturday (20 degrees) and Sunday (20 degrees).

While the start of the week will experience sunshine and warm temperatures, conditions are set to become unsettled towards the end of the week.

Here's what can be expected this week...

Monday morning and afternoon

A dry and sunny start to the week but there's a chance of a few isolated light showers in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 19 to 21 degrees generally, but between 16 and 18 degrees in parts of the west and north.

Monday night

Tonight will be dry with clear spells and perhaps a few patches of mist.

Tuesday morning and afternoon

A warm, dry and sunny start to the day is on the horizon with afternoon temperatures hitting highs of 21 to 23 degrees for most areas. However, it will be a bit cooler on the west and north coast with temperatures ranging between 16 and 20 degrees.

Tuesday night

Dry and mostly clear with a few patches of mist developing. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Wednesday morning and afternoon

Yet again, a warm, dry and sunny morning is expected while afternoon temperatures will peak between 21 to 24 degrees. It will be a bit cooler in the western and northern parts of Connacht and Ulster with highs of 16 to 20 degrees.

Wednesday night

Dry with clear spells and a few mist patches. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Thursday morning and afternoon

The day will start with warm, dry and sunny conditions.

However, there'll be a bit more cloud developing during the afternoon and evening with a chance of a few showers, most likely in parts of Leinster and Connacht.

Despite the cloud and rainfall, it's set to be a warm day with highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees expected.

Thursday night

Dry with temperatures between 12 and 15 degrees expected.

Friday

Friday will start off with dry with sunny spells. However, some scattered showers will develop by the afternoon and later in the day, the rain will develop in the southwest which will gradually spread northeastwards through the evening.

The temperatures are set to remain in the mid-twenties with the highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, 25 in some areas.

Saturday and beyond

Met Eireann state: "Current indications suggest that Saturday will be mostly cloudy with rain continuing to move northwards and with showers following from the southwest. It will be cooler with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees and light to moderate southeast winds, becoming southwesterly later.

"At the moment it looks like Sunday next will bring further showers with temperatures of about 17 to 20 degrees."
