Ireland v South Africa 2006: Teams, score, result and more from the historic victory

Fans are reliving Ireland's 2006 triumphant victory over South Africa tonight as RTE serve up the highlights of the classic clash.

The Irish ran out 17-point winner in the November international at Lansdowne Road, in the Springboks' first test of their Northern hemisphere tour.

The following year, South Africa went on to win the Rugby World Cup, however the might of even the world champions could not get past Eddie O'Sullivan's side less than a year before.

Tries from Andrew Trimble, David Wallace, Marcus Horan, and Shane Horgan, as well as three conversions and two penalties from O'Gara, saw Ireland run out comprehensive winners.
