Ireland team to play England: When will Andy Farrell name starting XV for Six Nations clash

Andy Farrell is expected to name his Ireland team to play England on Wednesday.

His side travel to Twickenham aiming to secure the Triple Crown and take a huge step towards the Grand Slam.

It will be Ireland's first game in the English capital since their heroic win at the same venue on St Patrick's Day in 2018 which won them the Grand Slam.

James Ryan says he didn't really appreciate that triumph as he was only new in the Ireland senior setup.

He said: "I think because I was so new on the scene I didn’t really appreciate the magnitude of what a Triple Crown and a Grand Slam was.

"It all felt like, 'oh, this is very normal’, do you know what I mean?

“Now, it’s only two years ago but I think even now I’m a bit more understanding and have perspective of an achievement like that.

"But that was very much a blur of ‘this is unbelievable, this is great’ and I went on the pints and didn’t actually reflect on what we’d just done.

“So, yeah, obviously I’m aware of the history and how big that is. Maybe a couple more years on me, I’m a bit wiser.”

England avenged the 2018 result when running out 32-20 winners at the Aviva Stadium last year.
