Ireland target Josh McPake joins Dundee on loan from Rangers

Ireland target Josh McPake has joined Dundee on a six-month loan from Rangers.

The winger's international future is up in the air with Ireland hoping to nip in ahead of Scotland to secure his services.

McPake qualifies to represent the Boys in Green through his grandmother and is set to hold talks with FAI representatives over the coming weeks.

And Dundee have won the club race for the highly-rated 17-year-old who had also been interesting Premiership duo Ross County and St Johnstone.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has rubber-stamped the move and McPake will join up with the Championship side ahead of this weekend's league clash with Inverness.

McPake is highly-rated at Ibrox and recently penned a new deal until 2023 after making his debut in the Europa League win over St Josephs.

He was named as Rangers’ ‘Academy Player of the Year’ last season.
