Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick set for Newcastle United move - reports

Newcastle United are reportedly set to win the race for Jeff Hendrick's signature.

Hendrick, 28, is a free agent after his contract with Burnley expired in June and the Ireland midfielder has attracted a lot of interest.

The likes of Celtic, Manchester United and AC Milan have all been linked to Hendrick in recent weeks.

But TalkSport reports that Newcastle United are set to finalise a deal for the Dubliner by the end of this weekend.

Hendrick would be joining a Newcastle side that continue to be involved in takeover talks without any deal in sight ahead of the new season.

Toon boss Steve Bruce will likely see the 54-times capped versatile midfielder providing experience and competition for places at St. James' Park.

Hendrick made 120 Premier League appearances for Burnley after a 2016 move from Derby County.
