Irani Cup: Troy Cooley set to be ROI bowling coach

RAJKOT: Australia's Troy Cooley will be the bowling coach of the Rest of India team for the upcoming Irani Cup clash against Saurashtra, TOI has learnt. The match will be played from October 1-5 at the SCA Stadium here.

Since 2021, the 57-year-old Cooley has been the fast bowling coach at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. He was the bowling coach of the Indian women's team in the T20 World Cup in South Africa in February.

He had accompanied the India A tour on its tour of Bangladesh last year.

A former pace bowler for Tasmania in first-class cricket (54 wickets in 33 First-Class games from 1985-86 to 1995-96), Cooley made a reputation for himself as a noted fast bowling coach after retirement.
