Iran media outlines draft US deal to end conflict, restart nuclear negotiations

Iran's Mehr news agency on Friday published what it said was a draft agreement with the United States that would provide a framework for ending the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon.

According to the report, the memorandum of understanding envisages a "permanent and immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon".

Mehr, citing a source close to Iran's negotiating team, said the draft accord also provides for a 60-day negotiation period aimed at reaching an agreement on Tehran's nuclear programme.

The proposed framework stipulates "60 days of negotiations to reach an agreement on nuclear issues and the complete lifting of US primary and secondary sanctions," the report said.

Iranian media also reported that the potential agreement envisages the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets.
