- Iran is refusing to send negotiators to Pakistan for a second round of peace talks until the US lifts its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, two Middle East officials told Politico.
- The refusal has led the US to put Vice President JD Vance's trip to Pakistan on hold. A stalemate has emerged between the two nations just hours before their war ceasefire is due to expire, with Iran accusing the US of violating the ceasefire by boarding a oil tanker.
- Trump has said he hopes for a “great deal” but will not extend the ceasefire, insisting the US military is “raring to go” and that bombing will resume if an agreement isn’t reached by the deadline.
- Gen. Majid Mousavi, the aerospace chief for the Revolutionary Guard, told Iranian media that it would be a mistake to carry out “aggression” against Iran. He said the region’s oil facilities would be harmed if neighboring countries allow the U.S. to carry out attacks.
- “If southern neighbors allow the enemy to use their facilities to attack Iran, they should say goodbye to oil production in the Middle East region,” he said. The U.S. has bases and troops in several countries across the region.
