Ipswich captain Morsy spotted training in Celtic shirt

It's not unusual for footballers to keep fit in the off-season. Usually, though, they're not training in the kit of other teams.

However, one Premier League captain has been spotted wearing a Celtic shirt in warm-weather training.

Sam Morsy - captain of Premier League-bound Ipswich - donned a Celtic kit as he trained in Dubai this week.

The midfielder, 32, was a key player in the promotion-winning season from the Championship with Ipswich second in the league table gaining automatic entry to the top flight.

And despite the gruelling season in England's second tier, Morsy has jetted out to Dubai to train with Elite Sports Performance.

The former Middlesbrough and Wigan midfielder was pictured in this season's Celtic's home kit as he worked out in the baking sun in Dubai.

Coach Chris Bowman shared a snap of Morsy during a drill wearing the green-and-white hoops.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has stated Celtic would never be so arrogant to think the Scottish Cup final against Rangers was a forgone conclusion.

“You can never have that arrogance,” Rodgers said.

“It’s not how we work. We have a humility in how we work, we respect every opponent we play whether that’s Rangers or Raith or whoever, we have to prepare for the game.

“But we come into the game in the ideal condition. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that. We’ve been on fire the last few months, playing really well.
